Statoil to acquire Byrding share from WintershallWintershall Norge has signed a sales agreement with Statoil to sell its 25% share in the Byrding field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Wintershall Norge has signed a sales agreement with Statoil to sell its 25% share in the Byrding field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The field, previously known as Astero, was discovered in 2005 and is located in the Troll/Fram area in the North Sea. The Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) was submitted to the Norwegian authorities in August 2016.

Following the transaction, the equity ownership in the license PL 090 B is: Statoil Petroleum AS (operator) 70%, Engie E&P Norge AS 15% and Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS 15%.

The transaction is effective retroactively from 1.1.2016.
