Wintershall Norge awarded three new operatorships in the North SeaWintershall Norge AS has been awarded three new operatorships in the North Sea. The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy is offering shares in 51 new production licences to 40 companies in connection with the 2012 Awards in Predefined Areas (APA 2012).
“I am pleased to see strong, broad-based interest in the most well-known parts of the continental shelf. This year’s licensing round confirms that Norway’s combination of framework conditions and geological opportunities is internationally competitive,” says Minister of Petroleum and Energy Ola Borten Moe.
“We are very satisfied with the outcome of the APA 2012 Round. We have been an active applicant in all rounds since Wintershall took over Revus. The Norwegian Continental Shelf has still interesting prospects and we aim to be one of the big players on the shelf,” says Head of Exploration Guy Oakes.
