Wintershall Norge with new websiteNew online presence underlines the growing importance of Norwegian activities. Company showcase at ONS 2012 in Stavanger from 28 - 31 August.

Stavanger/Kassel. Wintershall is unveiling a new website for the Norwegian energy market right on time for ONS 2012. As of today, the oil and gas company is informing business partners, media representatives and anyone else interested with news and background information on the activities of Wintershall Norge in the northern North Sea in English at www.wintershall.no. The new online presence will also be available in Norwegian from the autumn.

“Norway is one of the most important investment areas worldwide for Wintershall. Hence, we place great value on offering the people there a transparent and up-to-date view of our company,” Verena Sattel, spokesperson North Sea for Wintershall, explained. “An important element of this is a modern web presence, with which we are making a clear statement about the constantly growing importance of the Norwegian market.”

Journalists, business partners and the broad public can now inform themselves about the latest industry news and the current E&P projects of Wintershall Norge, for example in the fields Maria or Edvard Grieg, on the multimedia website and via mobile devices.

The website also provides information on Wintershall’s social responsibility, HSE standards, and the career opportunities in the company. The press and media section gives users the chance to form a more detailed picture of Wintershall Norge with an extensive range of press releases, images and company brochures. The website concept focuses on the interactive and multimedia presentation of the information. In addition, direct links to corporate social media channels Twitter, Facebook and YouTube enable users to stay up-to-date on developments at all times. The Hamburg online agency Paints Multimedia GmbH is responsible for the design of the website.

Wintershall at ONS (Offshore Northern Seas)

Wintershall will be presenting itself at the oil and gas exhibition ONS in Stavanger from 28 - 31 August 2012 at Stand E501 with a new stand design and fascinating themes from the world of oil and gas. The main topics will be the company’s activities on the Norwegian Shelf with the Maria und Skarfjell discoveries, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) with the help of the biopolymer Schizophyllan, and the West Siberian natural gas production of the German-Russian joint venture Achimgaz.

Wintershall Holding GmbH, based in Kassel, Germany, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BASF in Ludwigshafen. The company has been active in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas for over 80 years. Wintershall focuses on selected core regions, where the company has built up a high level of regional and technological expertise. These are Europe, North Africa, South America, as well as Russia and the Caspian Sea region. In addition, these operations are complemented by the company’s growing exploration activities in the Arabian Gulf. Today, the company employs more than 2,000 staff worldwide from 40 nations and is now Germany’s largest crude oil and natural gas producer. With the natural gas trading and transport subsidiaries it operates together with Russia’s Gazprom, the BASF subsidiary is also an important gas supplier on the German and European market.

Wintershall Norge AS is one of the largest license holders in Norway with more than 40 licenses and over 20 operatorships. In 2011 the company invested around half of its global exploration budget in the Norwegian Continental Shelf alone. Wintershall plans to invest up to two billion euros in exploration and field development in Norway and the UK by 2015 and intends to raise production to 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day. The fields Knarr, Edvard Grieg and Cladhan are expected to contribute to meeting this target. The company is based in Stavanger and today employs around 200 staff.
